The Kimberley

In the North West of Australia there exists a place that is mystical; of red rock and desert, of mile-wide sandy beaches against the arid bushland, of wide blue skies and emus in the Milky Way. Despite its otherworldly qualities, it is a place of wild animals where wildernesses cannot be captured or Nature tamed, where water is scarce and it is logistaclly impracticle, often impossible, to obtain supplies. In a way, it is like living on the moon. Here in the Kimberely, the real Australia, there is wilderness and semi-developed communities of the Fourth World. It is a land of sublime landscape and wide skies. It is a paradoxical paradise, beautiful yet deadly.
