Why are there so many Pagodas in Pagan? (Bagan)

Shivers reverberate in my spine with thoughts of you

Starving under the Banyan tree; voluntary, virtuous and free.

A legacy like yours – you encompass wonder and embody peace in a world which often seems meaningless.

We are quite content to sit still and wonder. Free our minds and meander.

Eating raw garlic and sipping jasmine tea. Wai Yan and Oakkar wait with me for the night bus to Bagan. They tell me, “there’s a saying here … ‘you will never starve in Burma’”.

The Earth sees clearly. It is like looking through glass. A prism.

She listens and she breathes, sensing the pinnacle of human experience

If you listen you can hear the bells at the top of a golden pagoda.
